Accessing highly restricted environments, such as mines or quarantine labs, creates significant operational bottlenecks. Urgent repairs are often delayed because external experts must first complete weeks of mandatory training.

OMV needed a way to fix problems at these sites without waiting for specialists to be cleared for access. The alternative also had to hold up where live connections are unreliable, as is common in deep mines and shielded labs.

The solution

OMV implemented Remote Eye as a centralised solution for its restricted sites. Instead of waiting for physical clearance, specialised experts can now enter a mine or a sterile lab virtually and instantly, seeing exactly what local personnel see.

An on-site technician simply wears the smart glasses and carries out the repair under the real-time guidance of a remote expert. Every session is recorded automatically for compliance.
